A Detailed, Awesome, Scratch-Built Muppet Theater

The Muppet Show is one of my top ten favorite TV shows of all time. It first aired from 1976 to 1981, and lived on in syndication through 2007.

The show was set at the Muppet Theater, a classic Cabaret-style theatre owned by Scooter’s uncle. The theatre was an integral part of the show and while it didn’t have any speaking roles, its design and quirks made it as much a character as Kermit or Miss Piggy.

Lance Cardinal has painstakingly reproduced that “character” as a scale model. Looking through the pictures is like jumping back in time to sit on the couch with my family and a bowl of popcorn.

Check out Lance’s blog for his story and a lot of pictures of pure awesome. And if you haven’t yet introduced your kids to The Muppets, there is no time like the present.
