The folks at Spoke Art, the transient art gallery and publishing house behind the awesome Samurai Star Wars prints we mentioned last September, are putting on an exhibit in New York City that will pay tribute to three giants in film: Quentin Tarantino, and Joel and Ethan Coen.

For Quentin vs. Coen: An Art Show Tribute to the Films of Tarantino and the Brothers, Spoke Art has arranged an art show featuring over 100 world class artists from the new contemporary art scene. For film geeks, this promises to be quite the exhibit. I discovered the works of Tarantino and the Coen brothers when I was a teenager and the raw violence, the genre-hopping, the soundtracks all drew me in like no other directors have. There are lots of dads and sons out there who enjoy these flicks together, and they will doubtlessly enjoy hundreds of art pieces inspired by the same movies.

Spoke Art had a lot of success with their last exhibit, Bad Dads: A Tribute to Wes Anderson, and their quirky cinema-inspired works are a lot of fun to look at. Check out some preview images below. The show runs April 7th through 9th at the Bold Hype Gallery, 547 W 27th Street, 5th floor, in Chelsea.

Update: If you thought the Star Wars prints were awesome but passed on buying them, Spoke Art is selling a bunch of them right now with 100% of the sales going to the Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Fund. There’s really no better time to buy a set. Mine is hanging up in my office and I couldn’t be happier with the quality of these things. Buy them now and help out Japan.
