A Closer Look At Mario Sports Mix

Earlier this month it was announced that Nintendo mascot and consummate sportsman Mario will be putting his own unique spin on volleyball, basketball, dodgeball and hockey on February 7th with the release of Mario Sports Mix for the Wii. Published by Nintendo and developed by Square Enix, who previously made their mark on the Mario sports franchise with Mario Hoops 3-On-3, it promises to deliver over-the-top action from all your favorite denizens of the Mushroom Kingdom. (A cursory look at the Japanese product page reveals that a number of your favorite Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest characters are also playable.)

If the below teaser video is any indicator, there’s definitely some arcade-style fun to be had with Mario Sports Mix. Now if only they’d have chosen a name that didn’t sound like a bad sports drink!
