So psyched for Tron: Legacy that you’re starting to dream in Grid-visuals? Are you imagining light trails behind motorcycles and wondering during the after-dinner cleanup how those plates would fare as Deadly Discs?

Then you’ll probably enjoy the results of a recent “Tron-itizing” video editing contest held by Ain’t It Cool News.

Reaching furthest back into film history was this clip which put Buster Keaton’s 1921 Hard Luck character on The Grid. It’s brief, but it makes great use of a classic scene and earns an Extra Life for including Bit:

And while this entry using Charlie Chaplin’s 1936 movie Modern Times isn’t the most technically polished of the entries, it’s smartly centered on the Little Tramp’s own “into the machine” trip.

By far the most eye-popping, though – and the AICN winner – is this amazing treatment of the climactic battle from Aliens, appropriately titled “Get Away From Her, You 01000010 01001001 01010100 01000011 01001000 !!!” (PG language warning – Ripley delivers that line to open the clip.)

If you’re interested in checking out some of the other top picks, head over to AICN, but not all the videos are family appropriate, so you may want to screen them before sending that link around.
