There is something nearly infinitely relaxing about listening to Sir David Attenborough talk about the wonders and mysteries of nature. Whether it’s his “Life” series on the BBC or the epic Planet Earth production, the naturalist brings instant credibility to any production he’s involved with. On the Discovery Channel this Sunday, Attenborough will go to the beginning of life and try to discover the very first animals.
During the two-hour program called First Life, viewers will travel the globe with the award-winning broadcaster and learn – through gorgeous film, state-of-the-art CGI and Attenborough’s unique storytelling – about the first creatures with eyes, the first skeletons, the first step on land (and the first predators, which soon followed).
What First Life lacks in ubiquitous nature program slow-motion shots of cheetahs in chase or flamingos in flight, it more than makes up for in detailed explanations that led to the modern animals we know (and are) today.
