This is where I’d like to be right about now.

Every year in October, tabletop gamers from around the world flock to Essen, Germany, for the International Spieltage (or SPIEL), a four-day trade show that’s all about board games and card games. It’s where game publishers go to show off their latest releases, and prestigious awards are handed out. Exhibiting your game at SPIEL is probably the best way to promote it to an international audience (though of course winning the Spiel des Jahres award wouldn’t hurt, either).

SPIEL got started early this morning (well, several hours ago by now since it’s already late afternoon in Essen), and continues through Sunday. Click here for a full list of the new releases this year.

And, you know, drop lots of hints to my editors that they should really send me to cover the event next year…
