Scientists in Madagascar have discovered a species of spider that could give Peter Parker a run for his money. The Darwin bark spider can evidently create webs up to 82 feet in length (and over bodies of water, as in the above photo), with silk stronger than that of most other spiders.

Read more about it in this poorly-written Discovery News article, which refers to spiders as “insects” and uses “enormity” to refer to large size (yes, I know, technically it’s OK, but the word is most often used for things that are horrible).
