“Woof?” … been there. “Meow?” … done that. “Quack, quack?” … soooo five minutes ago. Here are some truly awesome animal noises to blow your children’s neurally-connecting mind, and quite possibly keep them awake in that mid-evening hour before dinner (and, potentially, late, late into the night).
The Giant Anteater, gentlest of beasts, sounds as if it’s starring in a particularly violent scene in a big budget version of Predator vs Alien vs Anteater. Kids are guaranteed to love this one. Especially late at night. And especially, especially if you hide in their closet!

Is that a baby crying with the husky voice of a 40-year smoker? No! It’s the cuddly Japanese River Otter!

The mandrill is perfect animal noise, as it naturally sounds like a geeky dad trying to make a monkey noise. Just have at it, really.

These Australian favorites are almost as cuddly as their sound. Wikipedia writes, “Tasmanian devils eliminate all traces of a carcass, devouring the bones and fur in addition to the meat and internal organs…characterized by its pungent odor when stressed.”
