It’s hard not to be jealous of the geek hordes inhabiting downtown San Diego right now. It’s tough to read the reports from the Tron: Legacy panel, the Whedon – Abrams event and countless others, and wish you were there. And it’s rough to see pictures of all the awesome swag and special Comic-Con items available, and to know that they will never adorn your own collections. Why couldn’t you get just one thing, you might ask yourself, before the lucky folks at Comic-Con?
Well, here’s your chance. It may not seem quite as momentous to you as a preview screening of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, but your kids may disagree. We at GeekDad have been given the opportunity to leak to you the above special promotional Phineas and Ferb video — one which will be given to attendees at Disney’s event tomorrow for the show on branded USB drives. This 90-second video provides a link and a very subtly-hidden (by Dr. Doofenshmirtz, in case you think we’re serious) password that will unlock an online preview of the first 15 minutes of the special upcoming hour-long episode “Summer Belongs to You!”
The link will currently take you to a special video page, but the preview video won’t actually be made available until sometime tomorrow. The “Summer Belongs to You!” episode promises to be a lot of fun, with the boys taking a trip around the world on the longest day of the year and Dr. Doofenshmirtz and Vanessa taking a father-daughter trip to Tokyo. The episode also features, believe it or not, a duet between Clay Aiken and Chaka Khan. It will premiere August 2 at 8:00pm ET/PT on Disney XD, and will premiere on the Disney Channel on August 6, also at 8:00pm ET/PT. The preview link will be deactivated at the end of the day August 1.
