GeekDad at INplay 2010

Places

inplaylargeinplaylargeINplay 2010 is a two day conference starting tomorrow in Toronto, Ontario that’s focused on the art and business of kids interactivity. Among the keynotes and speakers are the Executive Produce and Co-Creator of Yo Gabba Gabba! and representatives from a range of companies and organizations that are well known in the industry, including Sesame Workshop, Monster Factory, Spin Master, Hasbro, Corus Entertainment, Disney Online Studios and Fablevision.

We’re proud to say that GeekDad has built a reputation of having some influence in this area and we were asked to present at a panel discussing the role that blogs play in the promotion of kids products. Our fearless leader is a few thousand miles away from Toronto, but I’ll be there representing GeekDad and presenting on the following panel:

Getting the Word Out: A Look at Social Media and the Parent Blogger Community

If you’re marketing to kids you’re really marketing to Moms and Dads. How do you reach the gatekeepers and convince them that your iPhone app is worth playing, your television show worth watching and your toy worth buying. In this session we’ll hear from influential bloggers and marketing companies about the ins and outs of using social media to promote your brand – target parents, create value for them and engage them.

If you’re anywhere in the Toronto area on Tuesday or Wednesday and you’re involved in creating, marketing or covering interactive products aimed at kids (or their parents), it might be worth your while to invest in a pass and check it out.
