The 2010 VEX World Championship begins on April 22nd and runs through Saturday the 24th. Hosted at the Dallas Convention Center in Dallas Texas, the VEX World Championship will be the largest Middle and High School robotics competition yet. Over 400 teams from 14 countries will compete for the chance to be the VEX World Championships.
The competition is spread across four divisions this year, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). Each division will run qualifying matches through Saturday noon and then playoff to see who goes to the main arena. If you’ve got a few hours to spare on Saturday, drop by the convention center around 3 on Saturday to see Grant Imahara emcee the finals. Admission is free to the public, although you will probably have to pay for parking.
The VEX Store will be back this year with more stock and more computers. Teams that register for next season will be able to take their welcome kits home with them. If you plan on attending the competition, look for the HEXBUG coupon in the Dallas Morning News.
Immediately following the awards ceremony, the Celebration Party will begin in Hall C of the convention hall. Music will be provided by Arc Attack and their singing Tesla coils. There will also be food, drink (soda), and a lot of inflatable bounce houses, obstacle courses, and more.
