Today is GeekDad’s third birthday, and that makes it time to present the winners of the First Annual GeekDad Awards! A huge “Thank you!” to everyone who voted — we hope you enjoyed the chance to participate in our experiment.
All told, 37,957 votes were cast in the sixteen categories. Best Musician / Musical Group was the most popular category, followed closely by Best Geek Celebrity (Overall). The least popular was Best Analog Game, by a large margin. Some categories were won by wide margins over second place, and some by only a few percentage points — and one category was won by only seven votes. There was one multi-category winner, whose identity will probably not surprise many people.
The list of winners is after the jump. As this was the inaugural run of the GeekDad Awards, we’d like to refine things for next year. If you have any suggestions about the categories, the process, or anything else that you think would help, please leave a comment or drop us an email.
Note to winners: If you drop Ken and/or Matt an email, we’ll get a prize to you in the form of a GeekDad t-shirt and customized mug.
Now, if you would, please simulate a drumroll by tapping on your desk …
