William Shatner is slated to be involved with the twitter-stream-turned-TV-show, “[Deleted Expletive] My Dad Says,” according to an article in The Hollywood Reporter today.

From the report:

Twitter sensation [Deleted Expletive] My Dad Says is becoming a TV pilot with William Shatner set to play the larger-than-life dad at the center of it.

The casting of Shatner lifts the contingency on CBS’ multicamera family comedy project based on the Twitter account, which has enlisted more than 1.16 million followers since launching in August and has made its creator, Justin Halpern, an Internet star.

Halpern started the popular twitter account just last August after moving back in with his 70-something father. In November, CBS picked up the script based on the stream of overheard comments, but THR says Shatner’s commitment is enough to green-light the project.

Fellow twitterer Noah Coffey immediately suggested the title for the series be named: “Shat My Dad Says.”

Let’s see Jean Luc Picard top this.

Thanks to @trotzke for the tip.

[Editor’s note: Yeah, we know what the proper name for the show is, but this is a family blog, so we had to do something. Yikes!]
