All my life, I’ve worked to reconcile my two worlds, hip hop and ubergeekery. But for me, never the twain shall meet. I never really had a thing for nerdcore (no offense). And in my opinion, some of the more recent attempts at a merger came off as corny.
But the revelation that Buzz Aldrin, one of the pioneers of space exploration, has been secretly moonlighting (sorry) as a hip hop legend all this time floored me. How could this have remained undercover for so long? How many opportunities have been missed for the hip hop and space community to become united? Maybe this is the beginning of something beautiful. For this GeekDad, one of my life long dreams has been realized.
