One of the biggest movie release of this summer for GeekDads and kids alike will almost certainly be Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen, and if director Michael Bay is to be believed it will be much bigger and much more bombastic than the first one. As part of the build-up to the release, Paramount Pictures have constructed a life-size replica of Bumblebee outside the Carlton Hotel in Cannes, France for the Cannes Film Festival. This thing is huge – it stands almost 16 feet tall and weighs a little over 2,200 pounds!

Paramount have also released this short but fantastic video showing just how the Bumblebee statue was built. No Constructicons appear to have been involved, so you can imagine the planning and work that went into all this.
Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen is released on June 24.
