Geek Culture

6177_lego_builders_of_tomorrow_box6177_lego_builders_of_tomorrow_boxThis is a little reminder for those who may have been thinking about entering the contest, but haven’t yet. It’s also an exhortation to those that don’t know to give this a try. How awesome would this be? You take a picture of you and your kids building something – ANYTHING – with LEGOs, then upload it to the GeekDad Flickr Pool by the end of April, and then… PRIZES!

Four RUNNERS-UP will receive a prize package of three hot new LEGO
Construction Sets from the LEGO Creator line that are not available in stores until August – each family will be getting these sets in advance of the public! Each package will include the following:

LEGO Creator Family Home – Budding architects can design and construct the new family home complete with stone chimney, sliding doors, flowerbox, awning, shutters, pond, terrace and birdbath, making it the best house on the block ;-). When it’s time for a change of scenery, children can use the 3-in-1 model instructions to re-build into a Mediterranean house or a bungalow. 976 pieces. SRP $59.99 (Age
8+)

LEGO Creator Fiery Legend – Imaginations travel to a fantasy land with this fire-breathing (thanks to a LEGO light brick) red dragon featuring fold-out wings, poseable arms, legs, tail and head. The 3-in-1 building instructions help builders allow builders to create a Korean Dragon or an ogre.  479 LEGO pieces. SRP $39.99 (Age 7+)

LEGO Creator Fire Rescue – GeekDad families can build this authentic fire truck with a 360 degree rotating ladder, doors and a roof that opens to reveal equipment like a LEGO fire extinguisher and hose! Once the fire is out, 3-in-1 building instructions offer families two more building opportunities to build the fire truck into a fire car or rescue helicopter. 771 LEGO pieces. SRP $59.99 (Age 8+)

And the GRAND PRIZE: The winning family receives the prize package above, but also gets their picture on the box of the 2010 version of the LEGO Builders of
Tomorrow set (the 2009 version is pictured above). All winning families will be featured on LEGOFamilyTime.com.
