Anaheim Mighty Ducks Bringing the Science of Hockey to Kids

Geek Culture

The Discovery Science Center in Santa Ana, California has partnered with the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim Ducks professional hockey team to put on a permanent exhibit called "The Science of Hockey."  Jokes about the physics of slamming an opponent against the glass aside, according to the story on ESPN online, the show aims to answer questions like "How do players skate? How do bodies move? How does the puck move? What is the reaction time for a goalie? What is the physiology of making a save? What are the nutritional requirements of players? How does a
Zamboni clean the ice?"

The show opened this week. More information can be found at the Discovery Science Center website.

Update: as has been politely pointed out in the comments, they haven’t been the "Mighty" Ducks for a while. Just goes to show you why the whole JockDad idea failed… I miss Emilio Estevez.
