Google Books Go Mobile

With the recent news that Google Books have scanned more than 7 million public domain and out of copyright titles into their growing database — and last month’s revelation that back issues of prominent magazine titles like Popular Mechanics and Make (among others) would be available — comes the release of Google Books Mobile, bringing many of the world’s greatest titles to your handheld.

Although the books that are available is limited, compared to the vast Google Books library, GBM is reported to work on most smart mobile devices, including the iPhone. (Hear that, Steve Jobs?) And best of all, they are all free. So download some of the classics and enjoy on your next flight or doctor’s office wait — just don’t let us catch you reading and driving.
