Barenaked Ladies Snacktime! Nominated for Juno Award

For those of you who follow the music industry, the 51st Grammy Awards took place over the weekend; the Canadian equivalent (The Juno Awards) doesn’t take place until March 29th, but nominees were released a few weeks ago.  Barenaked Ladies, who’ve managed to garner a fair bit of column space in GeekDad in recent months, are up for "Children’s Album of the Year" for Snacktime!  If they snag it, this would be BNL’s seventh Juno win, and their first in the Children’s category -a nice way to start off a year where they celebrate their 20th anniversary as a band.  Sales have reportedly been excellent and average ratings on Amazon for the CD hover over the 4.5 stars mark, so it hardly seems to be a huge stretch that they’d be able to manage the win. 

And in case you were wondering, They Might Be Giants pulled off the Grammy win this year (for Best Musical Album For Children) with Here Come the 123′s.
