What’s Your Superpower?

Back in June, we asked our readers what superpower they would like to have, and people chose things like invisibility, time travel, teleportation, and mind control. Those are really cool powers, but I’ve been thinking about what my actual superpower is. I got the idea from reading a post from a new blog by Jenny Williams (full disclosure: she was a high school classmate of mine) called Geek Mom. She talks about what ability or characteristic you might have that most other people don’t, and that sounds sort of like something a comic book superhero could have.

After thinking about it for a while, I think my superpower is solving puzzles. I’m really good at looking at problems of all sorts and twisting them around in my head until I can see something that might solve it. I’m not always right the first time, of course, and sometimes I don’t find a solution at all, but I seem to be better at this than most people—in my experience, at least. This ability is one of the reasons I became a programmer.

It’s a fun idea to consider. So, what’s your superpower?
