The MythBusters are Going to the Moon!

Good news for geeks: New episodes of MythBusters start tonight!  Adam, Jamie, and the rest of the team will be testing such diverse myths as tenderizing meat with explosives, fainting goats, and whether the first moon landing could have been faked.

I’m particularly looking forward to that last one, partly because I’ve always loved space history, partly because morons people who think that the moon landings were faked annoy me, but mostly because my son loves both MythBusters and Apollo 11, and I can’t wait to watch that episode (which will air August 27) with him.  It certainly looks good in this clip:

They’re also doing another ninja episode, revisiting the myth about catching arrows:

Of course they’re testing lots of other things, too.  I’ll be interested to see how they go about testing things like whether driving angry affects your car’s fuel emissions, since it’s hard to make someone angry if they know that’s what you’re trying to do.  That’s just one more reason to watch, as though any more were needed.

As usual, new episodes of MythBusters air on the Discovery Channel on Wednesdays at 9pm.
