The K’NEX toy company is launching its annual K’NEXpert
Search.  The Search is a building contest for five to six year olds, seven to eight year olds, and nine to twelve year olds whose prizes include three $10,000 savings bonds, seven $1,000 savings bonds, K’NEX
building kits, and invitations to visit K’NEX headquarters.  The annual contest seeks to promote creativity and ingenuity in kids by having them create original models designed entirely of K’NEX parts.

This year’s K’NEXpert Search will run until September 30 and the winners should be announced on or about October 28th.  To enter, children can print off the entry form from the K’NEX website
(www.knex.com) and mail their submissions to K’NEX.  Submissions must include a photo of their entry and a one minute video or a one page summary describing how they came up with the idea, how long it took to build and how many K’NEX pieces were used.  Submissions must be made in one of categories including Ultimate K’NEX Model, Futuristic, Vehicles, and Amusement Park Thrill Rides.

Initial judging will be done by a panel of judges comprised of K’NEX employees who will select the semi-finalists.  An online vote will determine the final ten winners and the inventor of K’NEX, Joel Glickman, will select the three Grand Prize Winners.
