Attack of the Con – Updated!

The City is in chaos. Superheroes are swarming around like a cloud of bats. Wil Wheaton and Felicia Day are reporting traffic on the 5, and it’s not looking good.

A scene from the next big-budget thriller? No, it’s just Comic-Con time again. San Diego’s population increases by 100,000 and our Geek Quotient goes up by at least 10 points.

I won’t be attending the con itself (the people! the jostling!), but I couldn’t pass up a chance to see MC Frontalot tonight, so I’ll be in the neighborhood. It may or may not end up on G4′s nightly coverage, but I’ll post a follow-up with pix and (possibly) video.

UPDATE: I’ve added a recap and some grainy iPhone photos after the jump.

The party was like the Con in miniature, both benefits (nerdcore! costumes!) and drawbacks (people! jostling!). Despite a compliment on my Strong Bad shirt, I managed to be outclassed by most guests, outgeeked by others, and in many cases both. (I’m lookin’ at you, guy in the Han Solo vest with two Slave Leia companions.)

Wonder Women of America were in attendance, but it was impossible to get near them amidst the throng. YTCracker, MC Lars, and Frontalot all had sets, which meant I wasn’t there late enough to see Frontalot. (I am someone’s dad, after all.) Sarah Atwood (of Epic Fu) posted a couple photos, and my own (in Blur-O-Vision!) are below.

Are you at Comic-Con? If so, why are you reading blogs when you could be… er, I mean… please post your experiences in the comments.
And photos. Seriously, photos or it didn’t happen.
