Another report from the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in Atlanta.  This video shows Morgan Walti with his project titled "Bionic Arm: An Application of Electromagnetics." Take a look in the Extended Post.

Looking at Chris’ work, I couldn’t help but think of the med-bay scene from the end of The Empire Strikes Back.  I think he was almost too excited thinking about the "8-times more powerful bionic arm," though. (I, for one, welcome our new bionic overlords)

Someone should call up Dean Kamen, who is working on just such technology right now, and tell him to hire Chris straight out of college.  Hey, maybe what we need is a science and engineering national draft, like the sports drafts, where major companies get to pick from the top graduates of Universities each year after an NCAA Science Fair Championships.  Anyone with me?

Thanks to Intel for bringing me to this great event!
