It’s pictures like this that make me love the Astronomy Picture of the Day.
I think there’s a subtle (okay, maybe not so subtle) piece of operant conditioning I should do with my kids where I’ll set the wallpaper on their Mac Mini to show the APOD each morning when the alarm goes off (playing the theme from The Suite Life of Zack and Cody). Question is, would that simply make looking at space (hopefully filling them with a sense of wonder about the universe) something natural for them? Or would they start hating space because they associated it with having to get up for school? It is something I will have to ponder…
