I think there is a sweet geeky validation to the fact that the newly unveiled Olympic mascots for the 2010 Vancouver games are all mythical/cryptozoological creatures, including a Sea Bear, a Thunderbird, and… Bigfoot! Plus, they’re cute and cuddly for the kids, so we can all buy lots of merchandise.
