If you happen to be in Oakland next month, be sure to check out the Robots Are Art exhibit & contest held at the Float Center & Gallery.
This event will encompass a diverse group of robotic artists including painters, kineticists and of course robotic artists. The contest will be 100% violence free, and will focus on form, function, and fun. Prizes will be given for, overall artistic esthetics, unusual functionality, robots as a reflection of society, and incorporation of unusual objects to name a few.
In addition to art, there will be a robot contest with multiple categories, and cash prizes given to winners.
The curators are accepting entries from artists of all ages for robotic art including robots, 2D art, drawings and “robot music.” The deadline for entries is December 1st so hurry scurry! The show runs from December 13th through January 17th with an opening party on December 15th from 6-10pm.
