I first posted to GeekDad on Nash the Slash back in the Spring. For those who missed that one, Nash is a (some would say) eccentric Canadian musician who gained popularity in the late 70s and early 80s, retaining a cult following to this day. A rocker/performance artist/silent film scorer, he made somewhat of a splash thanks in part to his unusual choice of musical instrument –usually an electric violin- but largely because of the awesome mummy costume he wore for all performances, interviews and public appearances.
It seems appropriate on Halloween to give a shout out to Nash The Slash, Canadian mummy. Here’s a clip of Nash in action, performing a not so scary version of Roy Orbison’s Pretty Woman at a 1989 Halloween gig in Toronto.
