Here’s a great idea that everyone can get behind: A startup in England has developed a technology that allows kids with physical disabiities to operate remote control toys. The controls are built into a specially developed hat. Head movement controls toy direction and movement. The technology also has the potential to be implemented as a glove or foot control.
Currently, the only product available via their site are RC cars. The technology is being developed for use with Playstation 1 & 2 video games and there’s future application for RC boats, submarines and other toys, as well.
The particulars on how it works are vague, as is the development blog. Nevertheless, it’s great that someone is filling this need.
