For those of you in the San Francisco Bay area who have kids who grooved on Pixar’s Cars, this Sunday (6/24) is the Palo Alto Concours D’Elegance at Stanford, the Classic Cars for Charity Drive organized by the Palo Alto Lions Club.

Features should include vintage tractors and trailers; “significant” (?!) Ferraris, Auburns, Duesenbergs, Cords, and others; an auto design exhibit; classic hot rods; miniature internal combustion engines (sponsored by Bay Area Engine Modelers); and new cars.

TeslaroadsterTeslaroadsterPersonally, I’m hoping for an appearance of Silicon Valley’s own Tesla (100% electric, 0-60 in 4 seconds at less than 2 cents per mile — excluding the $100k cost).

If you go, look for us. We’ll be riding our vintage 1991 Diamond Back Ascent (modded with after-market kid seat) and classic 1992 Specialized Rockhopper.

A collectible car drive is also scheduled as part of the event for tomorrow, but I can’t find the route posted anywhere. Our son would love seeing all the cars drive by. If someone can located a link to the route, please post it in the comments section.

Tickets are $25. 12 and under free. Maps and directions here.
