Dinnertime Geekdadding

Geek Culture

Eating dinner together as a family has to be one of the best ways to show your kids how important they are21e3mmf5vkl_321e3mmf5vkl_3
to you.  It’s also a great time for Geekdads to learn what is going on in their kids’ lives and discover their interests.  If your kids groan or say “nothing” when you ask the “what did you do at school today?” question, you might give Table Topics Conversation Cards –
Family Edition
a try.  Each of these cards has a different question for all family members to answer and discuss.

It might sound a tad tame for active kids, but our kids (6
and 8) love playing and get out the set as soon as we sit down.  The game has stimulated some great discussions about topics ranging from where we would like to vacation to the merits of property rights. There are no right answers to these questions, in fact, there are no answers printed on them at all.  The game is all about sharing your thoughts about interesting topics.  There is also a version for teens that might be more appropriate for older kids (Table Topics Conversation Cards – Teen Edition (Orange)).
