Take your kids to work day: What’s your office doing?

Places

Today is national Take Your Kids To Work Day. Here at the Wired offices, we’ve got about a dozen kids, from 3 to 10, and the project is to make a magazine cover. First, they took the photos (below). Then they loaded the photos into an InDesign cover template and wrote lots of silly cover lines, playing with different type styles, sizes and colors. Later we’ll print them all out on shiny photo paper and they can take them home after lunch.

What’s your office doing today?

[When I was googling for the offical TYCTWD website, one of the first that came up was this on at Fort Detrick, MD. "If the Threatcon Level for Fort Detrick is increased, the event might be canceled" it warns.  There’s a lesson for the kids, alright.]

[update: here’s one of the final covers:]
