GeekDads wanted

Internet

We’re looking for a few more GeekDads to help bring the daily content level up to about 6-12 posts a day. All of us have busy day jobs, so that means that we need to grow our ranks, probably by another 6-10 authors. While we’re at it, we’d like to expand beyond the Bay Area focus we’ve got now, first to GeekDads in other big metropolitan areas and eventually to good people wherever they live.

We’re looking for "geeks" (that’s anyone who loves science and technology, and likes to do rather than just watch) who:

  • Have kids, ideally between 4-14 (peak parent-child project years), although a few younger
  • and older will help broaden the mix.
  • Are prepared to write at least three posts a week.
  • Already have a blog or other example of writing style/ability that you send a link to.

Right now it’s a labor of love (none of us are getting paid for this), although as we build the site over time it’s easy to imagine how we could build a commercial model around it. Perks include a wide readership, the opportunity to review cool gadgets, and the pleasure of helping parents everywhere share their interest in science and technology with their kids. And the ultimate reward: inspiring kids themselves.

Please send me an email with a line or two about who (and where) you are, some of the subjects you’d like to write about, and a few links to your writing. And if you’ve already sent me such a note and it got lost in my inbox somewhere, please resend with a gentle nudge.
