’80s nerds rejoice! Those gross-out toys you loved so much as a kid are back! The fantastic folks at Mondo, known all over the world for their stylishly re-imagined movie posters and t-shirts have struck the nostalgia jackpot by bringing back the classic vinyl Madballs toys and bringing them new life as “Mondoballs.”
Mondo, not ones to do anything lackluster, aren’t simply re-releasing the classic toy line released by AmToy in the ’80s and ’90s, but will be imagining brand new licensed characters as Mondoballs including characters from Gremlins, Marvel, and more! But don’t worry, you’ll be able to get your hands on at least three of the classic re-released Madballs: Slobulus, Horn Head, and Skull Face.
According to Mondo, these creepy characters won’t be available until later in the year, but you can begin to pre-order the first three characters starting in February on Mondotees.com. Hints of future licenses have already been mentioned and a prototype of a pretty sweet Venom Mondoball can be seen on their website, but if their track record of utterly amazing designs is any indication, we can only expect to be wowed! Unfortunately, a remake of the much-maligned Madballs animated series has not (yet) been announced.
