In the first spinoff of the Harry Potter film series, Best Actor Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne takes on the role of magizoologist Newt Scamander in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. J.K. Rowling wrote the book for Beasts back in 2001 based on a fictitious textbook of the same name used by Potter and others while at Hogwarts. Rowling makes her screenwriting debut with the film adaptation of Beasts, with Director David Yates, who directed the final four films in the Potter series, retuning to the wizarding world as well.
I don’t know about you, but the term “magizoologist” and a promised return to the cinematic world of Rowling’s Potterverse has me ready to line up come November 2016.
