This week, we turn our attention to the Pride Lands. Atticus Shaffer joins us to chat about the upcoming Disney Channel special The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar, which airs on Sunday, November 22.
Return of the Roar also kicks off The Lion Guard, a brand-new ongoing series set in the world of The Lion King. The show introduces Kion, second-born cub to Simba and Nala, as he assembles the Lion Guard, a team of animals tasked with protecting the Pride Lands.
Atticus plays an “intellectual egret” named Ono who is one of the five core members of the Lion Guard. You probably also know Atticus as Brick Heck on the long-running series The Middle and as the voice of Edgar in 2012’s Frankenweenie.
On the episode, we chat about The Lion Guard, voice acting versus on-screen acting, surviving Hollywood as a child actor, and how he manages to balance everything in life.
