Dragonflight 36 Gaming Convention, August 7-9 in Seattle

Events Geek Culture Tabletop Games

DragonflightDragonflight is a local, Seattle-based gaming convention that’s been happening since 1980. That’s right–this is their 36th convention! Dragonflight is also a not-for-profit community organization for promoting gaming in the Pacific Northwest.

So what sorts of things can you expect from Dragonflight? How about board games, RPGs, Miniatures, LARP, card games, seminars, and tons of local vendors. Dragonflight is pretty all-ages (eight and up) compared to some other conventions, so you should feel fine bringing your gaming kids along.

The convention begins at 12:30pm on Friday, August 7, 2015, and the last games of the day begin at midnight. The convention opens again at 8am on Saturday and Sunday, with the last games beginning at 2pm on Sunday and the con wrapping up at 6pm on Sunday.

PaizoCon-wrathScenario1-1AThis will be my first time attending Dragonflight, and, unfortunately, I can only attend on Friday, but, if you want to stop by and play some Pathfinder Adventure Card Game with me, come by Tables B19-22. I’m running demos and Society play starting at 2pm and going until midnight.

One event I’m really sorry to be missing is the Foam Sword Parties Boffer Battle. This is essentially going to be a huge medieval battle royale with every type of weapon you can imagine–swords, axes, javelins, maces, spears, shields, etc. The battle will take place from 7pm to 9pm on Saturday. If you go, please share your pics so I can live vicariously through you.

Since this will be my first time, I don’t know exactly what to expect, but from everything I’ve heard, this is the perfect con for people who want to join in with a fun, close community and play tons of games. The schedule is full of so much variety, I’m almost sad I’ll be running games the whole time and not playing anything else! Hope to see you there!
