How To Get Ready for Another Sharknado

Sharknado1

shiIn just a few short days, we will have the privilege of viewing Sharknado 2: The Second One. In order to prepare myself for this event, I have taken several steps. First off, I have seen to original Sharknado. If you have not seen this “so bad it’s kind of good” movie, then either consider yourself lucky or go watch it now. For the uninformed, it stars Ian Ziering and Tara Reid – enough said about that.

Next up, I have been to see the RiffTrax version of Sharknado in the theater. By far, this is the best way to view this film. Michael J. Nelson, Bill Corbett and Kevin Murphy (the guys from Mystery Science Theater 3000) do justice to this masterpiece by cracking jokes and pointing out the many flaws. If you have not been to see any of the RiffTrax Live events, I strongly suggest it. Otherwise, you can go to their website and purchase one from their library. I highly recommend the RiffTrax Twilight version.

shFinally, I picked up a copy of How to Survive a Sharknado and Other Unnatural Disasters by Andrew Shaffer. This survival guide has not only the info you need for Sharknadoes, but also how to survive nearly all of the Syfy Channel original films including: Shartopus, Manticore, Ice Twisters, Rock Monsters and my favorite, the Mega Python. In fact, right now I am watching Mega Python Vs Gatoroid starring Tiffany and Debbie Gibson. Thank you Syfy for showing these movies again, just to lead up to the premiere of Sharknado 2!

In conclusion, get the book How to Survive a Sharknado, watch the original movie, and then tune in on Wednesday, July 30th, for Sharknado 2: The Second One on Syfy. Imagine Greater.
