A Behind-the-Scenes Peek at Marvel Universe Live

Geek Culture Places Videos

Marvel Universe LiveMarvel Universe Live is an upcoming live-action stunt show featuring a huge cast of Marvel superheroes and villains. It may be a long time before we get to see Spidey, the Avengers, and the X-Men in the same movie, so this may be the best opportunity to see them in action together outside the pages of a comic book.

The world premiere is in August at the Barclays Center in New York City (though, oddly, there are a couple dates before that in Tampa, Raleigh, Philadelphia, and East Rutherford), and tickets are available now at the Marvel Universe Live website. Sadly, I’ll have to wait until early 2016 before it hits Portland on its 85-city tour. After the US tour, Feld Entertainment has plans to take the show to other countries as well.

Here’s a “white model” video which gives a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the making of the show. You only get to see a few glimpses, but the show will feature movie-style special effects and action, fight sequences, vehicles, and pyrotechnics.

From the video above and the snippets on the website, I can tell that it’ll be a pretty awesome show. Of course, ticket prices vary widely depending on the venue and seat, so it’s still up in the air whether I’ll be able to take my family of five to see it. I hope so, though.
